What I am doing now

Last updated: 21 Oct 2025

Right now in Singapore spending two weeks here. From those who don't know me, I am from Singapore originally and moved to Melbourne, Australia ten years ago.

I call Melbourne home. And I call Singapore my other home and I hope to be back in my other home more often.

Right now, I'm juggling a few balls at the moment so here's what I have been up to:

Working at Altus - As a Senior Product Manager leading the international growth.

šŸ‘‰ I also have a venture where I work with B2B tech companies on Singapore-Australia market entry. I really enjoyed the challenge of taking an existing business into markets like Australia and Singapore and figuring out the optimal localisation and go-to-market strategy – from cultural adaptation, competitive positioning to partnership development - especially given my familiarity in these two markets having grown up and live in them.

That said, it's fascinating to decode what makes each market tick and translate that into actionable expansion strategies for the different businesses.

Still writing on the internet: I started to spend more time on LinkedIn writing and also checking out others' posts. I am amazed to how articulate some people are - via their LinkedIn writing and reading their posts help me expand my perspectives.

Learning to have fun - Even with juggling with my venture and job, I am learning to chill and have fun. It is not always easy when I am programmed from young to always strive and optimise my life.

So here's a picture of me enjoying Spring in Melbourne after a day hike with my partner. I am not advertising Killik, I just happen to enjoy their food, drinks, space and service.

Meeting people - I have make it a point to attend events to lean into others' stories and to make new connections.

Recently I went to an event where Alice Pung - author, lawyer, Order of Australia recipient - share her story at Museum of Chinese Australian History in Melbourne.

If you're interested to learn more about what I experienced during the event, I wrote about it here.

There's one bit I would call out when she was asked about her views on excellence and how important that is. She reframed it as:

There are steps before excellence - love and care have to come first.

And that struck home. In our endless pursuit of excellence, we may forget what makes us humans in the first place. This is such a great reminder to give grace to ourselves and others.
